Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

I know, I know it is a few days late. Still hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Hope Santa brought you everything you wanted. I know he did for me and my family. I love Christmas time. All the planning, stressing, buying, wrapping etc. Then BAM it's over. LOL. You know the phrase "Christmas is for the children"? Well they are not lying. Man Deuce got so much stuff for Christmas from everyone. He was so excited. He is still flying on excitement and it is days after the fact. LOL.

I started out at work. It wasn't so bad and I got lots of things done which was good. I always like to get everything accomplished that I set out to do so I was feeling good. When I got back to town Deuce's Nanny came by to bring him his present. So the two of us went to pick him up from the babysitter's house and pick up some food. So by the time we got Deuce and our food and got back to the house, Nick was home from work. So that was cool. Deuce opened his present from Nanny Liz and was so pumped up. He got two stuffed frogs ( he loves frogs) and the movie Wall-E on DVD. We gave Nanny Liz her presents. She got a frog cookie jar. Yes she shares Deuce's love for the frog. Or maybe it is the other way around...lol. So we watched the Wall-E movie and that was really cute. Then we started to get ready for the rest of the evening.

Christmas Eve we went to my Uncle John's house in Lafayette. It was nice to have just about all of my family there. Uncle Doc and his family didn't make it. We took a family picture with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deuce was the only great-grandchild there and we were missing Cameron the other great-grandchild and two of my cousins for the grandchildren side. But our picture came out really nice. I was looking at the pictures the other day and realized that there are two generations in that picture. My cousins and I are one generation and Deuce is all by himself in a new generation. Crazy stuff. Makes me feel a bit old. Oh well can't do anything about that.

We had lots of great food and conversation while at Uncle John's. Aunt Jane cooked gumbo and it was fantastic. Deuce had a nice white shirt on but ended up spilling gumbo all over himself so my cousin David gave him a t-shirt to change into. (that's why he had the Breaux Bridge shirt on) It was so humid on Christmas Eve, I though an elephant was sitting on my chest. But we are so used to that.

After we left Uncle John's we headed back to Breaux Bridge and went to my parents house. We celebrated with both my mom and Dad's families that night. We always have done that so this year was no different. We exchanged presents and I swear Deuce got so much stuff it wasn't even funny. My Aunt Anne was sitting next to me on the sofa and had what seemed to be a never ending supply of presents for Deuce. It was great watching him open is stuff. Everything he opened was what he always wanted. That was good. I think if we would have wrapped just a box and gave it to him he would have been excited about having an empty box to play with. Doesn't take a whole lot to please him...hope it stays that way. LOL!!!!

After we exchanged presents we hung around for a little while and then it was time to get going. When we got home it was time for Deuce to go to bed so that Santa could pass. So we put him to bed and then we got ready for bed and I am sure Santa passed sometime while we were sleeping. In the morning Deuce was so excited. He started yelling from his room to us that it was time to get up. So we got up and saw what Santa brought him. He got a Spider-Man 5-in-1 super web slinger. You can shoot webs, darts, and some other things with it. He loved it. Again everything he opened was what he always wanted. He was so hysterical.

Hubby Nick got everything he wanted as well. He got a new game for his PSP, the Iron Gym, and the big one: a new cell phone. His other one was really bad and he couldn't hear anything on it anymore. So he was happy about the new one.

I got everything I wanted as well. I got the movie 300 (let me just say Gerald Butler....mmmmm) David Cook's cd (he won American Idol last year) and the big one: a foot spa!!! I was so happy!!!!

After we opened presents we hung around for a while and then got ready and went to spend the rest of the day at my Uncle Doc's. It was really fun and such a nice day.

So that is what we did for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I will be posting pictures as well. So hope the Christmas season was great for everyone!!!!

Monday

Today was pretty nice. I had to work at the School Board office today. I was taking the receptionist Julie's place. I will be doing that next week as well. We are opened Monday and Tuesday this week and next week. I won't be at the Center tomorrow. I have to go to Metro tomorrow. So it's all good.

It was not all that busy today. Which was good I guess. I wasn't bored at all so there is that. There is always something to do. I would answer the phones, put out the mail as it came in because I hate when it piles up. Make copies and whatever needed to be done. So that was cool. I also got to email with my favorite sister-in-law and that was fun.

After I got off I went to Wal-Mart to get the phone I wanted for my hubby. I got the information I needed from my mom and was hoping I didn't have to see the ever so nice lady from yesterday. She wasn't there so I was happy. The girl who helped me was so nice. I gave her the info she needed and then we found out that I still couldn't get the phone because I didn't have the sim card number. I got it from hubby's phone and will pick it up tomorrow. I was upset but it's ok. The girl was so nice and that made up for it.

I had planned on wrapping some of the remaining presents but I don't feel like it. So I will do that tomorrow when I get back home. Yeah that sounds like a plan. I think I am going to take a long hot bath. It might help with my tummy. It is hurting really bad right now. I hate being a girl sometimes.

Saturday and Sunday

Saturday was crazy!!! I woke up a little later than I wanted but that's ok. I showered and after that I started wrapping Christmas presents. I had to lock my bedroom door because I didn't want my hubby or son to walk in while I was wrapping their presents. So I got their stuff wrapped so I was happy about that.

We ate lunch at my parents house like we do every Saturday. One of my aunts gave us all of our presents on Saturday because she does Christmas with her family. It was so cool. Hubby and I got a really nice thow blanket. We have since fought over that throw blanket. It was hysterical.

Saturday evening we went to a Christmas party at my Aunt Anne's house. It is an annual event and every year there is more and more food. I swear there is enough food there to feed an army. It kind of reminds me of my grandmother. She always had way more than was needed because she never wanted to run out. A friend of mine also graduated from UL on Saturday and was having a party at his house that we were invited to. We didn't get to make the party. But he said he didn't mind and knew that everyone had plans. He said the main thing was that he graduated and he was so happy about that. So that is a good thing. I remember graduating. It was great.

Sunday was pretty uneventful. We watched Iron Man and that was awesome. Loved that movie. Sunday afternoon I went to Wal-Mart to buy my hubby a new cell phone. Well I couldn't get it because our account with AT&T is under my mom's name. Not a big deal actually. But the lady was so bitchy about it. She was really ugly and it was really uncalled for. I understand she may be irritated because of some of the customers but you don't take it out on another customer. Anyway, so I didn't get to get the phone for hubby but I will.

Overall it was a pretty good weekend. This week is going to be busy with Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. But it will be fun too!!!!

Friday

I swear I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. But then again it is the holiday season so of course it will get busy. I am writing what went on over the last few days on seperate entries cause if I did it all together it would be really way to long. LOL.

Friday was a busy for day for Deuce. They had a half day at school and they had a jam packed so many things into those four hours. They had the school mass that morning, then they had their Christmas parties. So when my parents went to pick him up he was so excited. They all went to the new Mexican place in town. It was really good from what I hear. So that is good.

I was working at the School Board office on Friday. I was covering the front office. Everyone was in great spirits because the Christmas Party was Friday afternoon at Crawfish Town in Henderson. I usually go to the party but this year I couldn't because I was covering the front desk. But it's all good. After everyone left for the party there were three people left in the whole building, me, Tiffany and Mr. Mike the janitor. We left at about 2:30 and I headed to the bank to get my check cashed. After my check was cashed I headed to Lafayette to begin my Christmas shopping. I had already finalized my list so I knew exactly what I needed and where I needed to go. I started at Bed Bath and Beyond. I swear if I didn't have to stand in line I would have been in and out of there in ten minutes. It was great. I walked in and grabbed the first item on my list. Then I went to the back of the store and got the second thing I needed to get and then found one other thing that I wasn't sure I could get there. So I was pretty happy. It really didn't take long in line. Anyway that I went to the Mall. I really was not looking forward to that but it wasn't as crowded as I though it would be. I went to the stores I needed and got exactly what I needed. I was so happy to be in and out and done with the Mall.

I was going to get something for Deuce at Michael's Craft Store but the traffic was way to bad. So I just went to Wal-Mart in Breaux Bridge. I got just about everything that remained on my list there and I was really happy. While I was there I decided that I am going to do a painting for my Mom. It won't take long for me to do it and she is going to love it so a little less for me to spend. LOL. The main thing I wanted was for my hubby. I am getting him a new phone. He know's he is getting one but he just doesn't know which one. He needs a new one so bad. He can barely hear anything from the one he has. Anyway, I was in line for like twenty minutes waiting my turn and then realized that they didn't have the phone I wanted to get him. I was really irritated. So I got out of line and picked up a few more things that we needed for our house and then went to check out. I don't understand this and maybe someone can explain it to me. It is Christmas time and therefore the stores are busy and have lots of people in line. Why do they not open up more lanes? There are like thirty lanes and only like eight or ten are opened. I don't understand that. But anyway, it didn't take long for me checking out there either so I was happy about that.

When I left Wal-Mart, I went down the road and stopped at Family Dollar and was going to pick up a few things. I got some gift bags and gift tags and some really cute cardinal figures for my aunt and my mom. We have a thing for cardinals in our family. They remind us of my Uncle Ricky who passed away two years ago. Anyway, I finally got home and was looking forward to having a hamburger that my hubby made. So I get home and find out that he only made hamburgers for him and Deuce. He thought I was going to eat in Lafayette or something. I was so irritated because I was looking forward to eating a burger. I told Hubby on Thursday night that I didn't care what he cooked just as long as they saved a little for me. Of course they didn't so I went to Arby's and got some food from there. Oh just for the record, the mint chocolate swirl shake from Arby's.....not very good. I was very disappointed in that. It looked so good on TV.

So after I ate, I got ready for bed and passed out. I was so tired but in a good way. So now all I had left to do was get a few gifts from my list and then wrap everything. That was my plan for Saturday morning.

Here are a few pictures from the Christmas Play Thursday night. It was a really cute play. Deuce's class dressed as animals (he was a black cat) and they sang the song "Mind your Manners and Watch Your Step". It was really cute.

GO ME!!!!

I wanted to write this blog yesterday but was to tired to do it. So I will just add it to today's activities. Not a big deal. I was pretty excited yesterday. I went to work and then was able to get a few things crossed off my to-do list. I stopped at Walgreens and picked up the pictures I had developed. After Walgreens, I went to the Dollar Store and got some Christmas mugs and Christmas cards. The mugs are for the guys that I work with at Metro and the cards are for sending out to family and friends.

I got to the School Board Office and while I was in the front office I was able to get all of the envelopes addressed. I was so excited. When I got home I signed all of them and put our picture inside. I then sat at my computer and wrote a little note that I was going to print out on some Christmas paper and put into the cards. But my printer went all nuts and wouldn't print. So needless to say, the cards have no letters in them. Oh well. No big deal. So everything was sealed and ready to go.

Today I went to Metro and did what I needed to do there. Then I went to the mall. OMG I really dislike going there. It wasn't too bad though. There weren't too many people. My first stop was Hallmark for a keepsake ornament for my son. I wanted one that said son and '08 but couldn't find one. They had ones with '08 but none with son. The son ornament for this year I didn't like at all. So I found this little dog one that was so adorable and decided to get that one. At least it had the year on it and it was really cute. So after that I ended up going to Spencer's just to see what they had. OMG I was so excited because they had Bob Marley fleece thows. Everyone who knows me knows that I like Bob Marley but my dad LOVES him. So I called my mom just to let her know that I found them and she asked if I get it for her and she would pay me back. So that is what I did. The blanket is called "One Love" and that is one of my dad's favorite Bob Marley album. So I can't wait to hear about his reaction on Christmas Day.

After Spencer's, I went in search of some perfume that my mom has been wanting. She wants Liz by Liz Claiborne. Well when I got to Macy's I found out that they don't carry that scent anymore. I was a bit upset. So I will have to let my dad know that and we will come up with a new gameplan for that gift. After I left Macy's I stopped by Gamestop to see my friend who works there Seth. I needed some advise on some games that I am thinking about getting my boys anyway. Seeing Seth was really great. Haven't seen him in forever so it was nice getting to talk to him for a bit. So then I had to leave to get back to work at the School Board.

While I was there I made some lables for my Christmas cards. Got all the lables on and also got to put them through the postage machine. So I didn't have to pay for postage...how freaking cook is that??!! Yes I did do some actual work for the school board too...lol. I did a lot of filing and sorting. I also got to help a teacher that was using the big copy machine because it got jammed. That was fun. But we got it unjammed and working again. So that was good.

I got my cards in the mail tonight too. I am so excited about that. I have one that I haven't sent yet but I have to put a few more things inside the card. It is for my son's 8th grade buddy Ross. I want to get him a little something for christmas. Maybe a gift card to Wal-Mart. I don't know. Decisions decisions.

Tomorrow is going to be fun. Deuce has pajama day at school. They are wearing their pajamas and will be watching the movie "The Polar Express" and having hot chocolate and other christmas things. He is so excited. Then tomorrow night is the Christmas play. Deuce's class is singing a song. He is so funny and can't wait for that. I can't wait to see it either. I am so bringing the video camera!!!

Wow that was a long blog. Sorry it was so long. But I have been productive and I am happy about that. Anyway, I am going to try and get some sleep. Have a big day tomorrow!!!

Weekend

I was invited to a party last night. Not just any party...a novelty party or a "toy" party. I have never gone to one before and was looking forward to it. It was really fun. I had a great time. I was chosen after a while to wear the vibrating undies. OMG that was an experience. I had to put this thong-like pair of underwear over my jeans and in the crouch area there was a little "bullet" that vibrated. It was remote controlled also. So of course someone else (Ellen) had the remote and would turn it on and make it vibrate every now and again. Everytime it vibrated, I would jump and everyone would laugh. Overall it was a very interesting experience. We played this game at the party where we had to pick the household chore we hate the most and write 2-3 reasons why we hate it. I hate washing the dishes. The reasons were because it's time consuming and because if I don't do it then no one will. Well we had to pass our papers to the person next to us and then cross out the chore and write "Sex is....." and then read the person's reasons. It was hysterial.

After I got home from the party we had company at our house. My friend Cathy (who came to the party with me) and her boyfriend were at our house. We just hung out and watched a movie and then watched tv. Nick and I didn't get to bed until like 4 this morning. But it was all good. We got up at about ten I would say. Deuce woke up when Nick closed the door to our room when he got up. So after getting up Nick decided to cook breakfast. We had bacon and eggs and toast. After eating we watched a movie. We watched Space Chimps. It was cute. I was not feeling well and sort of fell asleep while watching it. But I think I only missed twenty minutes so I was still good.

Anyway, that was pretty much all we did today. I went to drop some pictures off at Walgreens and then went to my parents house to pick something up. Then came home and ate supper. Now I am about to read Deuce his bedtime story and then I think I am going to go to bed myself. Not sure about going to bed, but I am going to relax. I don't feel well and can't afford to get sick. If I get sick, it is like everything stops here. Nothing gets done. No dishes washed, no clothes washed, nothing. It is like my boys become stupid and can't do anything. LOL!!! Well I am off to do the Mom thing and then going to get some rest. Sorry my blog today wasn't very good. It will be better tomorrow I promise.

My First Blog

Greetings and Salutations!!!

This is my first blog here and I am pretty excited about it. Yes I did copy from my sister-in-law but hey when one of us finds something we like, we tell each other. Imitation is the best form of flattery. I figure this will be a great way to write whatever I am feeling and I don't have to worry. So that is a good thing.

I would write more but alas my son is driving me nuts so I must go and see what he wants. Enjoy more posts to come from me about me and the two Nick's!!!!
