April's visit

My friend from high school April Tauzin came in from Hawaii in January. It was fun catching up with her. We had not seen each other for a few years. She is living in Hawaii now. That is awesome. I think that is cool. Might have to go and visit here there in Hawaii. While she was in we went out to eat. It was really fun. Here is a picture of us. It's Cathy, April, me and Liz and we went to Tampico's. We were supposed to have a few more people but they couldn't come. That's ok because the four of us shut the place down!!! It was so funny. It was just us and the waitstaff and they were all cleaning up and getting ready to leave to go home. So we left and came back to my house and stayed up until after midnight just talking and catching up.

Pictures from Jennifer's visit

Here are the Girls: Wendy, Liz, Jennifer and Cathy
I took this picture of Jennifer and myself with my camera. It came out pretty good!!

It's Been a While

Wow!! It really has been a while since I have blogged. Sorry about that. Life has been crazy lately. Let's see what has been going on. Last month my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and two of their kids came down from Nebraska to visit. I was so pumped up cause Jennifer is my bestest friend. It was really great seeing her again. I wish we lived closer but alas we don't. Thank goodness for email and messanger. LOL.

While Jennifer was in she and I had planned to take some boudoir pictures for our husbands. We had it all set up and knew what we were wearing and all that happy stuff. Cut to the day fo the "photo shoot" and we were both feeling about as far away from sexy as possible. Jennifer was having problems with her sinuses and I was lucky enough to be on my period. It is really difficult to feel sexy when you are bleeding like a pig. Sorry that was gross but it is the truth. But the pictures came out great and we had a lot of fun hanging out with our group of girls. We had myself and Jennifer and Liz and Cathy, Jennifer's mom Jay was taking the pictues and Zoey (Jennifer's daughter) was there as well. It was a really fun afternoon.

Since then, it has been work work and more work. Now it seems to be birthday party season. LOL. We had to miss one of the parties though. It was a bowling party for one of the girls in Deuce's class. We had to miss it because his behavior was really bad one week. He had 13 points off in one day!!! I couldn't believe it. Neither could his Daddy. But he is doing so much better in conduct so that is good. We seem to have that problem fixed for the most part. So that is good. OMG Deuce just called me a few minutes ago to let me know that he only got one point off today. He was talking in line. But he wanted me to know. He said "Hi Momma. I messed up today. I got a point off." It was so cute!! So his behavior is improving so that is good.

This past weekend we had two birthday parties to go to. One was for Deuce's friend Cole Fuselier and the other was for our friend Gabbi Taylor. They both turned six. Let me just say that whoever invented the fun jump should get a medal. There was a fun jump (moon bounce to some people) at both parties. Deuce slept so well Saturday night. It was great. Now I am starting to get ready for his birthday party. His birthday is the Tuesday or Wednesday before Easter so I am not sure exactly when we are going to have the party. But we will cross that bridge when we get to it. As well as a theme and such. The pleasures of planning a birthday party for our children. LOL!!!! The fun never ends!!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!! Hope 2009 is a great year for everyone!!!!

We didn't really do much for New Year's Eve. Both Nick and I had to work earlier in the day. Deuce went to my parents house for the day. So after work, I picked up some food and then got home and Nick and I ate. My dad gave Nick some money to get some fireworks to pop later in the evening and Deuce was so excited about it. So after we ate the guys went to the fireworks stand to get some fireworks. Oh man was Deuce so excited. After they got back we just hung around the house for a while and then when it got dark we went outside and popped some fireworks. Deuce was so excited and I don't think he has stopped being excited, lol. The rest of the evening was pretty quiet until around midnight when everyone started popping their fireworks. Deuce was already asleep and Nick and I were watching a movie. We watched "There Will be Blood" when the new year came in. All and all it was a pretty good evening.

New Year's Day we went to my parents house because mom had made some gumbo. Man it was really good. So we hung out there and then came home and just hung out. Honestly I don't remember what we did. LOL. Friday I went to work and the two Nick's stayed home and had some Father/son bonding time. That is always a good thing. When I got home that is when the fun started. We cleaned out our storage building. I have never seen it so clean and not full of crap. We have a huge pile of things that we are going to get rid of and then we had another pile of things that we are going to sell for our garage sale we are going to have sometime soon. I can't wait for that honestly. Sell stuff and get some money!!!

While we were cleaning out the building and getting stuff organized some of our friends came over. So we finished and ended up ordering some food from the new Mexican place called Zapote's. It was AWESOME!!!!! We are going to go back there and actually eat inside the restaurant. MMMMMMM it was so good.

Saturday we just hung out at home. Didn't do much. I wasn't feeling all that great. It's all good though. Saturday night we had an all out war. It was Vermeer vs. Vermeer vs. Vermeer. We had a Scrabble war. It was really fun. Deuce was winning for a few rounds. He was so excited. (Nick helped him because he kept saying he couldn't spell yet. He did spell eye though) We had fun and will be doing it again. Soon.

Today was just nice and quiet. I ended up cleaning up Deuce's room. Oh man I was so irritated with him I kicked him out of his room because he was not helping me like he said he would. So he was happy cause he got to watch a movie with his Daddy. So I cleaned his room and got rid of some stuff. We also have a few item to give to his teacher for their treasure box. So that is good. I took Deuce to my parents house so that I could take some pictures of him in front of their Christmas tree before mom took it down. So we did that and watched a bit of the football game with them. (I don't remember who was playing though) We had pizza for supper and just hung out for the rest of the evening. OOOHHH for dessert we had Smores. OMG those are the best things ever invented. Whoever came up with that combination needs to have a freaking medal. I am not kidding. It was so good. I wanted to eat them all but forced myself to eat all of one. I was so full. I put laundry away and then we got Deuce ready for bed. My hubby fell asleep a while ago. I am so not tired. So I am going to most likely watch a movie. OOHHH I can watch Love, Actually. I love that movie. That is one of my favorite movies. My other favorite movie is Clash of the Titans. Oh I might watch that one too. Who knows how long I will be up for.

Work tomorrow and school tomorrow. Thank goodness. Deuce was driving me nuts. But he is excited about going back. He is missing his friends. As much as he complains about school sometimes Deuce really does like it. Well that is enough for now. I am off to watch one of my favorite movies!!!

Christmas Eve and Christmas Day

I know, I know it is a few days late. Still hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. Hope Santa brought you everything you wanted. I know he did for me and my family. I love Christmas time. All the planning, stressing, buying, wrapping etc. Then BAM it's over. LOL. You know the phrase "Christmas is for the children"? Well they are not lying. Man Deuce got so much stuff for Christmas from everyone. He was so excited. He is still flying on excitement and it is days after the fact. LOL.

I started out at work. It wasn't so bad and I got lots of things done which was good. I always like to get everything accomplished that I set out to do so I was feeling good. When I got back to town Deuce's Nanny came by to bring him his present. So the two of us went to pick him up from the babysitter's house and pick up some food. So by the time we got Deuce and our food and got back to the house, Nick was home from work. So that was cool. Deuce opened his present from Nanny Liz and was so pumped up. He got two stuffed frogs ( he loves frogs) and the movie Wall-E on DVD. We gave Nanny Liz her presents. She got a frog cookie jar. Yes she shares Deuce's love for the frog. Or maybe it is the other way around...lol. So we watched the Wall-E movie and that was really cute. Then we started to get ready for the rest of the evening.

Christmas Eve we went to my Uncle John's house in Lafayette. It was nice to have just about all of my family there. Uncle Doc and his family didn't make it. We took a family picture with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Deuce was the only great-grandchild there and we were missing Cameron the other great-grandchild and two of my cousins for the grandchildren side. But our picture came out really nice. I was looking at the pictures the other day and realized that there are two generations in that picture. My cousins and I are one generation and Deuce is all by himself in a new generation. Crazy stuff. Makes me feel a bit old. Oh well can't do anything about that.

We had lots of great food and conversation while at Uncle John's. Aunt Jane cooked gumbo and it was fantastic. Deuce had a nice white shirt on but ended up spilling gumbo all over himself so my cousin David gave him a t-shirt to change into. (that's why he had the Breaux Bridge shirt on) It was so humid on Christmas Eve, I though an elephant was sitting on my chest. But we are so used to that.

After we left Uncle John's we headed back to Breaux Bridge and went to my parents house. We celebrated with both my mom and Dad's families that night. We always have done that so this year was no different. We exchanged presents and I swear Deuce got so much stuff it wasn't even funny. My Aunt Anne was sitting next to me on the sofa and had what seemed to be a never ending supply of presents for Deuce. It was great watching him open is stuff. Everything he opened was what he always wanted. That was good. I think if we would have wrapped just a box and gave it to him he would have been excited about having an empty box to play with. Doesn't take a whole lot to please him...hope it stays that way. LOL!!!!

After we exchanged presents we hung around for a little while and then it was time to get going. When we got home it was time for Deuce to go to bed so that Santa could pass. So we put him to bed and then we got ready for bed and I am sure Santa passed sometime while we were sleeping. In the morning Deuce was so excited. He started yelling from his room to us that it was time to get up. So we got up and saw what Santa brought him. He got a Spider-Man 5-in-1 super web slinger. You can shoot webs, darts, and some other things with it. He loved it. Again everything he opened was what he always wanted. He was so hysterical.

Hubby Nick got everything he wanted as well. He got a new game for his PSP, the Iron Gym, and the big one: a new cell phone. His other one was really bad and he couldn't hear anything on it anymore. So he was happy about the new one.

I got everything I wanted as well. I got the movie 300 (let me just say Gerald Butler....mmmmm) David Cook's cd (he won American Idol last year) and the big one: a foot spa!!! I was so happy!!!!

After we opened presents we hung around for a while and then got ready and went to spend the rest of the day at my Uncle Doc's. It was really fun and such a nice day.

So that is what we did for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I will be posting pictures as well. So hope the Christmas season was great for everyone!!!!
